Nature has been one of the most profound healers for me. Nature connection has been a constant companion through many trials, tribulations and challenges in my life as well as a deep well of joy, inspiration and resource. Polyvagal has been a revelation for me and I am really looking forward to sharing new insights that have been incredibly helpful for me and many others.

I am delighted to know that this space is on the horizon for us to be together and strengthen, enlivens and deepen our personal nature friendship. It is such an incredibly personal relationship to what we all belong to. We will explore this wonderful wild resource though the creative practices of Movement Medicine.

You are welcome to participate in your own time with the recordings of the sessions and the rich online resource hub, which many people do or participate in the weekly live sessions and bonus mini practices and Q and a sessions. There will also be an option to journey with a study buddy for the duration if you would like.

Movement Medicine is a dance practice that will reconnect you to the wisdom of living from you heart, will deepen your connection to true self, your creativity and your integrity as well as enliven your relationship with life on all levels. This collective journey will be intentionally small, open to a limited number of dancers. No prerequisites or previous experience in Movement Medicine is required. Whatever your background, culture, race, gender, condition, age, or circumstances you are very welcome to register. David’s intention is to create an intimate space for dancers to feel held, safe, and heard, to learn, practice, and strengthen deep and healing processes to help support and creatively resource you in the present time and beyond.

THE INVITATION

The intention of this journey is to reconnect you to the wisdom of living from the heart and will deepen your connection to yourself, your creativity and integrity as well as enliven your relationship with life on all levels. Movement Medicine has roots in indigenous shamanic wisdom as well as contemporary therapeutic pathways such as Gestalt and latest developments in Neuroscience.

Together, we will create a supportive community to journey together. There will be support groups, inter-module exercises and guided recorded practices so you can integrate these practices into your life and have the freedom and empowerment of self-leadership.

ABOUT DAVID MOONEY

David Mooney is a trained and qualified Movement Medicine Teacher and supervisor. He has been teaching Movement Medicine throughout Europe and in America for 11 years and has been dancing various forms of conscious dance practices for the past 15 years.

David is also a fully qualified and practicing psychotherapist, professional mentor and supervisor, and has a passion for shamanic and therapeutic pathways. He recently completed a year long Polyvagal training with Deb Dana. He is also a trained in Internal Family Systems.

The somatic nature course was extremely revelatory for me. It sounds so obvious to say “the more you move, the less you’ll get depressed”, but the truth is, for years I just didn’t see that link. Same with time in nature, I always knew I loved it, but somehow when I heard the science behind Why it’s so beneficial, it made me want to seek it out more. Again and again, we treaded pathways out of the head and into the body, creating a personalised toolkit for finding groundedness and equilibrium. I especially loved the befriending of the so-called negative states and recognising them for the creative survival strategies that they are. We also had the opportunity to connect one-to-one during and between classes, which provided an additional source of anchoring and safe connection. I also gained some valuable insights about my existing styles of connecting with others and where I would like to branch out into new relational terrain. The content was presented in a simple, jargon-free way, which is why I’ve been recommending this modality to friends who are looking for tools that allow them to stay in calmer and more grounded states for longer.
